Turf Renovation
Turf Renovation - The Process
Blower trucks allow several cumbersome steps to be combined into one easy application for turf renovation. The blower truck places a final 1 to 2 inch thick layer of biologically formulated compost, which is blended with seed.
Topdressing / Overseing - The Process
• Core aerate turf area to a depth of 2 1/2 - 3 inches.
• Blow in a 1/2 - 3/4 inch uniform layer of high quality compost (seed can be injected at this time for overseeding when necessary).
• Back-rake the treated area to break-up the soil plugs and mix the compost and soil together to backgill into the aeration holes (raking may not always be necessary).
• Water thoroughly.
• Use of quality organic fertilizer and/or compost tea for maintaining good microbial population in the soil is recommended.
Add Filtrexx TopCoat Plus - a specially injected topdressing mix with a blended 'microbe' pakcage to jump start your lawn's rhizosphere!
Advantages:
- Seed is planted rather than exposed on the surface
- Germination is greatly increased because of the warmth and moisture surrounding the seed in the soil
- The "blown-in" applications levels the soil for a smoother well drained surface.
